About MeHi :) I am a third generation metal sculptor who grew up traveling around with my father to art shows where he made his living. My grandfather started the art trade in our family and just as he passed his knowledge on to his kids, my father taught me to work with metal and utilize the skills our family has learned over the years.
I grew up with my family in a small Midwest town in Ohio. After high school I moved to the big windy city Chicago and finished my undergrad degree. After Chicago I spent 6 months in Shanghai, China on scholarship studying Mandarin and Asian culture. When I returned to the States I went to graduate school for two years before I realized I had to return to the world of creating art, traveling around to shows, selling custom handmade work, and meeting and embracing the culture I remember being around while growing up. |
